We are on our 6th year of hosting a holiday drive through the Wonderfund, which directly supports children and teens within Massachusetts spending their holiday season in foster care.

Our success in providing these children with exactly what they wished for, comes directly from you.

A huge thank you to all of our donors thus far and to all of those who will help us reach out goal of fulfilling all the gift requests by the end of this week.

Every child deserves a gift meant for them at the holidays. By giving kids the ability to ask for exactly what they want, we’re empowering them to feel seen and to build resilience in the face of the tough stuff they have experienced.

Leading up to Thanksgiving we were busy on site of our newest project ensuring the installation of our footing form using the Form-A-Drain system.

This system is easy to install due to its lightweight. We laid out and formed the footing the same as we would with a traditional 2 x 12 wood strip footing. Once the layout is on point we will rebar and place concrete.

The Form-A-Drain pieces have 2 chambers; the top chamber will perform as our radon excavation and the bottom chamber will execute as our perimeter drain. This will drain water and gasses that build up under the slab and evacuate them away from the building to protect the new home from unwanted gasses and water.

Definitely a game changer in water and radon mitigation.

The Newton Exterior was a labor of love. With the addition of a full basement level renovation, the exterior was pining for a refresh that not only honored the brilliance of the newly constructed interior, but led to accentuate the distinct architectural beauty of the home.

Last Friday we held a mini ceremonial groundbreaking and this Friday the site is looking much different.

On day two of excavation we hit some ledge, two days later an excavator with a hydraulic hammer was brought in and the ledge was removed.

The area will continue to be cleaned up and prepared for foundation, while telephone poles are simultaneously being installed with the goal to bring power to site by Thanksgiving.

Surveyor markers had been placed in preparation for the beginning of site work.

Before the excavator could get up and running, our team met the clients on-site for a ceremonial ground-breaking, where the homeowner had the honor of digging the first hole himself.

Even though it appears the project is just beginning, a lot of work has been done behind the scenes to lay the foundation, for the foundation 😉 and we are just as an enthusiastic as the client to launch this project into the construction phase.

At the end of it, this wonderful family will have a beautiful and energy efficient custom home.

We will be using a new building method utilizing ICF and I am looking forward to building with this product.

No better way to end the week.
