We had the chance to replace the facade on this commercial building located on Main St. in Medway, just a short distance from our office location.

Previously, the facade was made of weathered and worn wood shingles that had most definitely seen better days. The property owner wanted to bring the design more modern with a clean stucco facade and we were happy to help them do that, adding some much needed curb appeal for these businesses and to Main Street.

We started Monday off with a 💥 over in Hopkinton with the demolition of a home and two accessory buildings.

Our client bought the property with the intention of constructing their dream space, and today we took the first steps of physically getting them there. The current home on the property was contaminated with mold and too small for renovations, so we are starting from scratch.

Now that the buildings are leveled, the rest of the day will be spent cleaning up debris and eventually hauling the trash away.

This project was a complete renovation of the basement into extra living space for the homeowners or their guests. This full size bonus kitchen is one small aspect of an entire overhaul, sporting gorgeous Marina Black Soapstone countertops from @divinestoneworks

Last week I walked through the finalized primary suite renovation in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

A smaller space, packed with intentional touches of design.

The steam shower, outfitted with iceberg marble slab and seating, may be my favorite to date. The currated tile and touches of brass finishes, add a touch of luxury, that still feels like home.

Truthfully, I enjoy all of our projects, whether they be renovation, commercial, or custom homes. The ability to problem solve and create an end product I'm proud to stamp my name onto makes each opportunity worthwhile.

Shou Sugi Ban
also referred to as Yakisugi, is a preservation technique that involves the scorching of wood, which originated in Japan during the 18th century. Traditionally, cedar planks were charred on the surface, then rubbed with natural oil, rendering them waterproof and weather resistant.

I learned about the Shou Sugi Ban technique years ago and since then, I have had the joy of including it in both residential and commercial projects, as well as in our own office headquarters.

Modern Shou Sugi Ban practices are found in exterior applications, interior wall cladding, ceiling cladding, flooring, artworks, and custom furniture.

Since, modernized Shou Sugi Ban is often utilized for its appearance, rather than its function, you may see applications in a spectrum of charring. A light burn may be used for the purpose of simply emphasizing the natural grain of wood while a deep full burn follows traditional appearances.

We've installed Shou Sugi Ban for full home exterior siding, interior accent walls, exterior accent walls, privacy screening, and even wooden bar top application.
